Challenge
: The project was required to progress the development of materials to be used on an AMR. The project was to identify suitable materials to meet the end customer’s requirements, and produce samples for testing.
Solution
The project identified suitable materials for key components such as the reactor core that were further investigated to establish Technological Readiness Levels (TRL).
Results
The results included a selection of materials that will be progressed for small-scale experimental development to understand their integrity under the conditions for normal and extreme operability.
